Right now, this computer takes about 1 ½ minutes to fully start from a full shutdown not bad, if you ask me.

The previous reviewer rates his knowledge level has high but obviously did not take the time, or did not know how, to do some tweaking on a new system. In contrast to that review, I do NOT find this notebook to be slow. Nevertheless, I thought I’d post a review here to give a different perspective than the rather negative first review posted for this notebook. Overall Review: I’m a repeat customer of but bought this unit from a local retailer. This is my first ownership of a notebook but I’m under the impression a latch is a feature of most notebooks and laptops. Has all the features most users would need for home or small office use.Ĭons: The notebook does not have a latch to securely keep the screen panel closed when in closed position you simply put it into the closed position and just open it when you want to use it. This is the first notebook I’ve owned and I find the display quite sharp and clear. Pros: For the price, this unit is a good value, having the Home Premium version of Vista, and 1MB of RAM. But other than those 2 things im pretty much happy with my purches. So with the preinstalled software and having vista as the OS i dropped the rating to 4. one last thought: setting up a home networrk is a pain with vista, not compaqs fault but something to think about.

Overall Review: I'll probably end up buying a 2gig stick of ram to see if it helps vista much, and if not I'll dump the whole thing and spend the time finding drivers for XP. you can free up almost 3 or 4 gigs by uninstalling the usless software Also it has a lot of preinstalled software so expect to be friends with the add/remove programs. This machine would fly if it was running XP. VISTA, is really the only major draw back for this system. suprisingly it has great sound for a laptop.Ĭons: only a 64mb video card. Nice machine for a college student or someone who doesn't do much Gaming. Pros: works great, runs Quick with the exception it has vista.
